Who’s Nee?
My usual tagline? Just a loud-mouthed, giggly SoCal girl, livin in the swamps of Florida…. But in all fairness, I suppose there’s a lot more to me.
Riding, and sportbikes in general, is a huge passion of mine. It’s also a passion I’m fortunate enough to share with my husband, and the majority of our friends.
Involved in the local sportbike community since 2003, I took my MSF Basic Rider Course in 2005, and have been riding since early 2006, with about… hmm… I guess close to 18,000 miles under my belt… er, butt.
My first bike was a 1995 Kawsaki ZX6R, named Greenie. What we bought as a simple “project” bike became a 9-month long labor of love, and while she was a huge, heavy beast, she was also a great joy to ride for 2-1/2 years.
However, on November 9th, 2008, Greenie was replaced by Scarlet, a stunningly beautiful shift red 2004 Yamaha R1. Scarlet is actually the second R1 in our stable, as my husband rides a 2005 Raven R1.
So, as we enter prime riding season here in Florida (there are few things a bikes likes more than a cool, breezy day and some open road), and I saddle up my new steed, it’s inspired me to keep a blog of my riding adventures, my bike, and her modifications.
